Porto’s grip on the Liga Portugal lead slipped as Famalicao snatched a dramatic 2-2 draw in stoppage time, denying the league leaders two crucial points. A 99th-minute strike from Rodrigo Pinheiro sealed the comeback, leaving the ‘dragons’ stunned after they thought victory was secured.
Alberto Costa opened the scoring for Porto in the 35th minute, finishing off a move started by Rodrigo Mora. After a rebound in the box, Moffi controlled the ball with his chest, and Costa pounced to slot home. Famalicao leveled in the second half through Marcos Vinicios, who capitalized after Diogo Costa saved a header from Elisor.
Porto seemed to have snatched all three points when Seko Fofana found the net in the 90+1 minute. However, deep into added time, Rodrigo Pinheiro equalized in the 90+9 minute, just before the final whistle, to salvage a point for the visitors.
The hosts were without midfield anchor Gabri Veiga, who was suspended after accumulating five yellow cards in their recent 1-2 win over Braga. Porto now face Nottingham Forest in the Europa League later this week.
Porto remain top of the table with 73 points, followed by Sporting with 68 points and a game in hand.
